There are 4 major colors, or “Veins” that have different quantities of each major alkaloid. These are then divided into particular “Strains” that have slightly different effects or places they are grown.

Green Veins – These have both high quantities of Mitragynine and 7-OH, so they are great all around strains for boosting energy and focus, mood elevating and as an analgesic. 
Red Veins – These have higher quantities of Mitragynine but low quantities of 7-OH, so they tend to be best for night time, or for stronger analgesic needs.
